El Averno is the first champion. He won the previous championship on November 30, 2007 in Arena Mexico.
History of Championship
This championship was opened on August 12, 2010. After years of NWA asking for the championship to be returned, CMLL decided to retire the the NWA championships, replacing them with CMLL Historic championships of the same weight class. The previous champions were given new belts, making El Averno the first champion.
