He always loved lucha libre, since he was a child, his father read lucha libre magazines and they watched lucha libre on TV. His first experience attending a local show was in a church when he was 6 years old. His father and him instead of attending the church, they watched the show, unfortunately the show was during a rainy day and he got a flu. Drakma debuted on September 18, 1997 in Ecatepec, Mexico State as Matza Boy. He took the name from a youth group of a church he attended named Matza Cristi (Christ Star). His first gear was a devlyn shorts, a black shirt, and a very expensive mask. He was beaten by his rival, but he liked the experienced and kept training. Actually his professional debut was in an event held by the church. Matza Boy means Star Boy. His first maestra was the legendary Irma Gonzalez in the now defunt Bulls Gym. After Irma Gonzalez, he prepared with several trainers. Months later, one of his friends who is a referee Tigre Lemus renamed him as Acolito Infernal. He used that name for about a year after that he went by different characters until he found his definitive name, Drakma. In his championship record he won the Mexico State Middleweight Championship and the Mexico State Tag Team Championship along with his brother. On July 17, 2014 at Arena Coliseo of Mexicali he defeated Black Shadow Jr. to become the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship, a foreing title from Panama. Wrestled in arenas of Mexico City area. He was with Perros del Mal for some dates at Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera.
When he went to Mexicali he met a bus driver who was also a luchador who told him about the local wrestling. He went Arena Coliseo Mexicali. During that time he was under the name of Aniquilador, but it did not seem to work. He was looking for a name that people could be able to cheer. His brother gave him a mask design intended to be for Acolito Infernal but he used it for Drakma. Cobra de Oro suggested the name of Drakma which was an ancient coin from Greece. He liked the name because it was short and easy to recall and cheer.
There was a feud with El Pzayko in which they protagonized a bloody championship match at the end of 2016. After that match they allied and became the Pacific Coast Tag Team Champions, and eventually became a rudo trio when Voltron joined. They are known as Los Maniacos.
