Champion Du Monde
The FMLL World Heavyweight Championship, officially known in Spanish as FMLL Champion Du Munde, is a professional wrestling championship promoted by Federación Mundial de Lucha Libre in Guatemala.
Current Champion
Voltrón is the current champion. He defeated Último Guerrero on October 27, 2013 at the Arena Guatemala México in Guatemala City to win the title.
History of Championship
Disputed for the first time in 1962 in France. The Champion Du Munde was brought to Guatemala by Celso Sotelo in sixties. The championship was defended over the years by José Azzari. Endorsed by the Association Internationale de Lutte Professionalle. The original belt was active until 1975.
In 2011 was reactivated by promotion Federación Mundial de Lucha Libre. Voltrón defeated Brazo de Oro to become the first champion of new version of the title belt. This new belt was created as a tribute to Guatemalan legend José Azzari.
