Current Champion
History of Championship
This is a distinct and separate championship from the UWA World Light Heavyweight Championship. The two titles are occasionally confused with each other on posters. The Junior Light Heavyweight Championship was added in 1977, after the first wave of UWA championships. Those championships were in demand, and this one seemed to be added to create more potential title matches.

Championship history becomes confusing conflicting after Heavy Metal wins this championship. The UWA ceased to exist by 1996, but was still well known enough for various wrestlers to purchase belts (originals or copies) and declare themselves champions. Championship reigns past this point are extremely dubious.
The original belt may have been passed on to Silver Star, who defends a title as UWA World Light Heavyweight Championship.

Operativo 209 Branch
The UWA World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship was brought in to the United States by the World Wrestling Organization (WWO). The promotion held a one-night eight-man tournament in order to crown the new champion. Local wrestler Operativo 209 defeated Texano Jr. in the finals to become the champion. A few weeks later, he drop the belt to Súper Nova in Yakima, Washington. Following a title defense made by Súper Nova on 2014's Christmas Day, the title was never mentioned again, and it went defunct when the champion began to wrestle for AAA.
