The Nuevo Leon Women's Championship is a professional wrestling championship to independent female wrestlers in all state of Nuevo Leon. The title is defending in promotions like Lucha Libre Femenil and Lucha Libre Unida. It should not be confused with regional Monterrey Women's Championship.
Current Champion
Tsunami is the current champion. She defeated Patty Rey on July 15, 2018 at Deportivo Guadalupe Victoria in Guadalupe, Nuevo León to win the title.
History of Championship
Polly Star became the first ever Nuevo Leon Women's Champion on May, 2001 by defeating Titania in finals of Torneo Cibernetico during a lucha libre event held in Macroplaza De Monterrey. Other participants were La Intrusa, La Justiciera, La Misteriosa, and Lydia del Mar.
On June 4, 2017, the championship went vacant for the first time in it's history as reigning champion La Magnífica failed to appear in a scheduled title defense. She originally was booked to defend the title against winner of #1 contender battle royal early that night. As result, the match was changed and it was contested for the vacant championship.
