Notes
Aeroflash is a northern Mexico based wrestler. His major national fame came with the UWA, working there from mid 1992 to until dying days of the promotion. Aeroflash did not have a strong role in the promotion while it existed, but became notable for possessing a couple championships after the promotion stopped existing.
The UWA/El Toreo/LLI champions have had a surprisingly legacy, being passed around and defended many years after the actual promotion they were part of ceased to exist. Championships, and sometimes multiple disputed versions of them, perpetually circulate Mexico as a 'real' independent world championships. UWA had a strong relationship with Japanese promotions over it's history, and the name stayed meaningful to wrestling promotions in Japan even while the promotion was unable to draw fans in Mexico. Enterprising wrestlers exploited the inequity by gaining possession of the UWA championships and agreeing to lose them to Japanese promotions, a strategy that eventually expanded to other promotions.
Aeroflash seems to have made this business decision first, with the WWF World Light Heavyweight Championship, a championship born out of a long forgotten partnership between UWA and the US promotion. Villano III usually held the belt, but abandoned the championship when the UWA went out of business. Aeroflash is credited with having defeated Fighter for the championship on June 16, 1995 at Arena Neza (one of the UWA home arenas), but no record of a show actually taken place on that day has ever been found, and it's unclear who would've actually be promoting title matches for that belt with the UWA out of business. Aeroflash would defend the championship at least once before traveling to Japan and losing it to Gran Sasuke, where it'd eventually join many other floating championships to be come the J-Crown.
Aeroflash is also recorded as holding the UWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship in 1995, and said to defend it around his home area for an indeterminate amount of time, but no record has ever been found of when he won or when lost the belt. Very little is known about Aeroflash's activities around Tamaulipas; it's not a national center of lucha libre, but it appears he may have been the local legend for some time.
