He was the one of his family who was interested in sports. He used to play soccer a lot, but he also was a wrestling fan. His parents moved from Oaxaca to Mexico City. They lived in a neighborhood in Iztacalco, there was an arena near in the area. He and a group of kids did not afford to pay a ticket and they tried to peek into the arena. Eventually the guard who was at the door allowed them to enter at the end of the event to see the last match and they were happy eith that. He had his first approach to lucha libre at the age of 14. He was very slim and he decided to go to the gym and train in order to gain some weight. He learned that in the gym there were wrestlers training and that awoke his curiosity to train with them.

That place was Gimmasio Marin's and his first trainer was Capricornio. Other prominent trainers who attended that gym were Apache and Apache II who were the maestros who he learned most. Dragon Chino II and Olimpus contributed in his preparation as well.
