[[El Hijo del Santo]] is the current champion. This is his ninth reign. Like Santo himself, the championship is independent and not bound to any promotion. Santo hasn't been seen with the title as of late, replacing it with the [[WBC Wrestling Championship]] as the trophy belt he brings to the ring (but doesn't actually defend.) However, when a title tournament was held to declare a new champion without him, he protested in his newspaper column.
[[El Bandido]] is the current champion. The championship is independent and not bound to any promotion. He defeated [[Angel Blanco Jr.]] on September 28, 2017.
