He was trained by Leonel Perez, Wilber Sanchez and Cristobal Fraga.  He comes from a family of Olympic Wrestlers.  During his caree as Greco-Roman wrestler he was 5 times National Champion in this discipline. In Olympic wrestling he had competed in different leagues from USA, Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Brazil and among other countries.  He had wrestled professionaly at Mexico State, Puebla and Baja California.
