He was born on January 2nd, 1964, in Durango, Mexico. His father, Oso Garcia, was a wrestler, but little is known of his career. He was trained by El Moro (who was actually his neighbor) and Polo Torres and debuted in 1978. He wrestled under his real name until July 1983, and took on the Stuka name. His name refers to a type of German bomber plane known as a "Jungers Ju 87" or a "Stuka". His mask reflected the name as his mask had pilot goggles designed into it.
He spent most of 1981 and 1982 wrestling at Plaza de Toros Valente Arellano in Torreon, Coahuila. He started appearing for EMLL in 1983, often in the opening or mid-card matches. He grabbed one of his first apuestas wins on August 4th, 1983, when he beat Tony Arce, a future member of the legendary trio Los Destructores for his hair. Garcia would also end up hairless by the end of the year as he lost a hair match to El Dandy on December 14th, 1983. He won the mask of Dr. Ho on December 16th, 1984.
He teamed up with Hecactombe and Acertijo and the trio were one of the first Distrito Federal Trios Champions. The team lost the titles to Los Temerarios on December 18th, 1985.
He and Impacto captured the Mexico DF tag team titles in 1986 and had atleast one successful defense against Luis Mariscal and Tamba.
He appears to have left EMLL in 1987 and he feuded with Llamarada in 1988-1989 before capturing his mask. He also notably captured the mask of Invasor del Norte I, who would go onto become La Parka. This would be his last apuestas win for years.
He wrestled in a hair vs hair vs mask tournament on August 1st, 1991 against Perro Aguayo and El Hijo del Santo. It was assumed that Stuka was likely going to be the loser. Santo beat Stuka in a technical match and Perro lost to Santo after fouling him. Stuka and Perro met in the finals in a hair vs mask match where Perro defeated Stuka. Stuka was unmasked as Joel Garcia, 27 years old. To make matters worse, a week later, he attempted to get revenge on Perro in a one on one hair vs hair match, but was again defeated. This was the beginning of Stuka's infamously poor record in apuestas matches. From 1991 to 2007, he lost his hair to wrestlers like Latin Lover, Jerry Estrada on three different occasions, Ultimo Guerrero and Espanto V.
Stuka took up the gimmick of Mascara Maligna in AAA. The gimmick was basically an evil version of Mascara Sagrada and it is unknown when and where he wrestled under the name.
In the early 1990's, a new Stuka appeared, this time named Stuka Jr. This was not his son, but actually his much younger brother. Stuka and Stuka Jr. often teamed together and Stuka Jr. keeps the famous blue pilot mask alive to this day.
