Talk:CMLL World Tag Team Championship
I've got a house show report [1] listed as CMLL LA in 1995.11 which has the Headhunters versus Silver King & Vampiro in a tag title match (and Rayo vs Mascara Y2K for the "World" Title); it seems legit, but doesn't seem to fit --thecubsfan 14:56, 17 May 2006 (CDT)
I have that match on tape and it's the CMLL Tag Titles. Was part of an angle they ran where the HH's killed Atlantis and Rayo in the title match and lost the belts by DQ. They were unhappy and "stole" the belts protesting the decision. Angle never went anywhere so titles were just eventually worn by the real champions. Oh, and the Rayo/MA2K match was for the IWC Heavy Title.--Robert 18:09, 17 May 2006 (CDT)
So how will the current title scene be addressed? Vacated belts with decision match on the 23rd?--Robert 17:09, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
Yep, vacant titles with the possibility of Garza and Mistico picking up a second reign without any else winning the belts I need to make the edits but that seems how they're playing it out. --thecubsfan 18:14, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
I don't want to edit this yet so I'll wait and give you the chance to fix things but you screwed up the dates on some of these matches during the Mistico/Negro reign. They beat Perrito/Aguila on 4/13/07 but for some reason you have that as 2/14/07... a Wednesday @ Arena Mexico which doesn't exist. I think that leads to a chain of wrong dates b/c Mistico/Negro never faced Averno/Warrior in a tag match at Arena Mexico, especially not on the same date they beat Perrito/Aguila.:) I'm sure it's just a simple case of one date led to another wrong one so just double check it.--Robert 03:25, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
OK i think i got it fixed. Yeah i have no clue where i got that now. Good thing u caught it. - LuchaNews
Hey thecubsfan, it appears we have another situation with Latin915 removing gallery pictures here. Can you make a ruling on this so we don't have to keep doing this? There's no rule as far as I know about posting extra photos in the gallery. --Rzombie1988 (talk) 10:34, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- No problem with a decision being made on this. My point of view is the same. Why add another image of the same title holders. So whatever is decided works for me.--Latin915 (talk) 10:42, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- First, there is no rule against it, just your personal preference. Second, many photos are timely with CMLL rarely keeping up photos more than a few months. So once the photos are taken down, they are basically gone forever. Third, different photos are just that - different photos. Different poses, different angles, etc. Fourth, an extra photo here or there is not causing any type of problem or causing harm. Lastly, your deletions are not contributing anything. It's just deletion. --Rzombie1988 (talk) 10:53, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- Not a personal preference, look at any other championship page, is there more than one image of the same title holder(s)? So if its decided that it is fine to do, cool. Works for me. I don't delete anything. The image is still uploaded here on this wiki.--Latin915 (talk) 11:00, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- For a lot of these title reigns, there's not even one photo available, yet alone two photos, because nobody bothered to save them or post them and they got lost in time. Some of the photos we have may be the only photos we have in even a few months time, yet alone a few years. Try searching for photos of various reigns from the last few years and I think you will be shocked at how little is available. --Rzombie1988 (talk) 11:13, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- Yup definitely a lot of stuff from the 90s and later is lost or no image has ever made the internet. So Ive done stuff like screenshots but not the same. Things like facebook pages have helped in finding images. I have found images there that Ive been able to add here.--Latin915 (talk) 11:18, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- So I think we agree here that 1) There is no rule against this (and if you can find the rule, please post it) and 2) These images are timely and often rare. So I'm not real sure if I understand the necessity to remove them except for your personal preferences, unless Cubs makes a ruling otherwise.--Rzombie1988 (talk) 11:28, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
- So my point of view is the same as before. Whatever is decided works for me. Same as when I make a decision on a wiki I manage.--Latin915 (talk) 11:33, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
Two concepts here
- There is a rule about using the wiki as a personal image gallery. The idea that we want to have enough images to identify and illustrate a wrestler over their career without essentially becoming an image storage site. Our hosting has been generous never to take us off the unlimited storage plan we've been on for years. I'm sure there's eventually a time that'll change and I don't want to run into difficulties because we're storing a lot of images that are almost never seen. The rule is less about a specific number and more about not creating a big mess later.
- The gallery of images for each championship is an attempt at a static version of the champions montage promotions (NJPW for sure) have used to illustrate the lineage. That usually takes one photo, when we're lucky enough to have one photo. I have no objection if you want to use a different photo for the image at the top of a frequently viewed page and then for that gallery, it's not strictly necessary but it's fine. I wouldn't ask not to go much beyond that, but I'm also not going to be strictly counting them either.
I do appreciate both of you asking me what I'd like to happen rather than going through an edit war over it. --thecubsfan (talk) 13:51, 26 October 2020 (PDT)
