Gatubela is the first and current champion since 2003.
History of Championship
In 2003 the Commission of Box y Lucha of Mexicali created special wrestling championships to celebrate Mexicali's Centennial. In order to determine the inaugural Champions there was a wrestling event held at Arena Mexicali. In that event Gatubela defeated Woman Star to become the inaugural women's champion.
The title was inactive for twelve years, because there were no more Women's division in Mexicali. At some point Gatubela was the only female wrestler in Mexicali.
Since 2015, the title is active once again with the new wave of female wrestlers in Mexicali.
