Profile

One of the most famous wrestlers in the US in his prime, his only appearance in a Mexican promotion was as the second Diesel for AAA, when WWF and AAA were having their partnership.

This requires a bit of historical context. In 1996 Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) and Kevin Nash (Diesel) had left the WWF. WWF elected to replace the characters with new performers, not as genuine continuations of the characters (as is not uncommon in Mexico, particularly in AAA itself!), but for trademark reasons. WWF were concerned that Hall and Nash would act a bit too much like the Razor and Diesel characters when they went to WCW, so they kept using the characters to assert their ownership. The difference was, they were treated as the cheap knockoffs they were, with formerly beloved announcer Jim Ross acting as a disgruntled employee trying to push them. No one bought it, Glenn Jacobs wasn't ready for TV, and Rick Bognar (as Razor Ramon II) was even less ready. By the time the two made it to Mexico, they were already completely off TV in the US.
