International Wrestling League (IWL) is a professional wrestling promotion based in Deportivo Tlalli, in Tlalnepantla, Mexico State.

It was founded as Independent Wrestling League on August 13, 2010 by Martín Amaro, with Octavio Rivero as the head booker. His first shows had little response from both fans and press, and were scheduled to air in U.S. in agreement with Masked Republic, so Rivero booked several American stars, like Chuck Palumbo, Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana.

Due to the lack of results, Rivero was replaced in late 2010 by Ángeles Rubio, niece of Amaro. Rubio began to work together with Perros del Mal promotion, improving the response to the shows. For personal reasons, Rubio left the presidency of IWL in late April.

The next head booker was Fantasma de la Ópera, who began a working relationship with AAA.

On May 28, 2011 it was announced that Fantasma de la Ópera would be replaced by Valerie Richter.

In a press conference held on July 3rd, Richter announced that the company will change its name to International Wrestling League.

Richter left the group in late 2011, becoming part of rival group X-Project, and yet another new director has taken over.
