Jaibo is from the neighborhood of La Colonia Campbell in Tampico, Mexico. People from Tampico are known as "Jaibo", hence his in-ring name. He had been a fan of lucha since he was a kid and was inspired by Ray Mendoza, Ringo Mendoza and Angel Blanco. Beto Villalobos trained him and El Jaibo II to become wrestlers. They debuted in 1974 against Toro Chavez and Segio "El Mosco" Aragon and faced wrestlers like TNT, Sergio El Hermoso, Baby Sharon and others throughout their careers. He retired in 1991 and part of the is Professional Ex-Wrestler Association of Tampico, Madero and Altamira.
