CMLL 84th Anniversario

The CMLL 84th Anniversario was held on September 16, 2017 in Arena México. The two big matches of the event was Zeuxis vs. Princesa Sugehit in a Mask vs. Mask Best Two Out Of Three Falls Match and Gran Guerrero vs. Niebla Roja in a Mask vs. Mask Best Two Out Of Three Falls Match.

Storylines

The Zeuxis vs. Princesa Sugehit match came about in 2016 when Princesa Sugehit began consistently challenging Zeuxis for the Mexican National Women's Championship. Princesa Sugehit lost in 3 straight title matches before finally defeating Zeuxis in a 4th title match on February 25th, 2017. Zeuxis demanded a mask vs. mask match as well as challenged Princesa Sugehit for the championship through out 2017. Their rivalry continued on July 21, 2017 as Princesa Sugehit defeated Zeuxis in the final of a torneo cibernetico for La Copa Natalia Vásquez. They finally signed contracts for the mask vs. mask match on August 16, 2017.

Gran Guerrero vs. Niebla Roja match came about in May 2017 when Niebla Roja was kicked out of the Guerreros Laguneros group for no longer exhibiting rudo tactics (cheating and using dirty tactics to win). This lead to Niebla Roja becoming a tecnico (good guy/babyface) and battling Los Guerreros Laguneros through out the rest of the year until Gran Guerrero and Niebla Roja signed contracts for the mask vs. mask match on August 16, 2017.
