Notes

One of the most beloved luchadors in Mexicali. He is Co-founder of Arena Nacionalista, current promoter, ring announcer, and occasional referee.

Began to train at the age of 16. He was the first son of Manuel Hernandez to debut as a wrestler. His professional wrestling career began in 1976 in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora under the name "Pato" Hernandez. Later on he adopted the name of Pluma Blanca. He wrestled under that name for about 8 matches which it seemed to work. Nevertheless his father and his trainer had the idea of adopting the name of Príncipe Negro since he used to wear a sarape and a black fedora with a cross. He took off the lightingvolt for a crown. His first matches were in San Luis Rio Colorado, because he was a lightweight and there were few luchadores in that division in Mexicali. He used to go back and forth with Tury Olivares. Benjamin Mora gave him opportunites all over Baja California and Baja California Sur. He was noticed by Rafael Rebelin has a big draw at a local level. One of his most memorable matches was a tag team match between Septiembre Negro and him against Carlos Plata and Negro Casas.

Príncipe Negro vs El Estudiante

There was a mask vs hair match against El Estudiante. Principe Negro lost the match by the second's intervention which caused a controversial end to the match with the crowd not accepting it. The situation turned into a riot. Principe Negro was pulled down from the ring by the crowd who prevented him from taking his mask off. He attemped to untie his mask but someone grabbed his hand. The ring announcer said he should unmask but suddenly someone pointed a gun at him. As a result, Príncipe Negro kept his mask.

The Truce with El Estudiante

Even after feuding for many years, Príncipe Negro and El Estudiante formed an alliance for the first and only time in their careers. After a match Destroyer and Leopardo, two luchadores from Guadalajara began to beat up El Estudiante. The crowd asked Príncipe Negro to help him. Príncipe aided El Estudiante and they were challeged for a lucha de apuestas of Príncipe's mask and Estudiante's hair against the masks of their challengers which Príncipe Negro and El Estudiante won.

Groups and Tag Teams

Los Hermanos Caudillos His brothers Caudillo Jr. & La Hormiga Atomica were one of the most notable Trios in Mexicali with a long time rivalry La Familia de Mexicali & La Ola Roja

Los Humildes During early 90s he was part of of this trio of técnicos along with Humilde & El Musical. The gears of this trio were unique, their masks, thights, shirts had patches which symbolized the humbleness of their characters.

Imperio Negro With his sons Príncipe Negro Jr. & Rey Negro were one of the most well known and respected Trios in Mexicali.
