He shouldn't be confused with Máscara Sagrada, who wrestled as Mágico in late 80s. He also performed as Máscara Sagrada on local events in Monterrey. Octagón also used the ring name Amenaza Elegante before take his current gimmick.

Claimed to have traveled to Japan, the US, Spain, Germany, Greece and Argentina with a trip to Saudi Arabia on the way. Also says he's wrestled in Arena Mexico, Tokyo Dome, and the Astrodome. (These are all suspect facts, as are the list of titles.) As of 2010, he claims to have won 76 masks and 89 hairs on apuesta matches.

Mágico wrestled his last match on May 29, 2016 in the Gimnasio Nuevo Mezquital in San Nicolás, Nuevo León. Mágico, teaming up with El Ninja Jr. and Kid Lion, defeated Kiowa, Mongol Chino, and Titanik on a Lucha Libre Unida (LLU) event. He died on September 2, 2016 in Monterrey due to a kidney failure.
