She always liked lucha libre, she watched her brother training and one day she decided to practice. She trained with Robin Maravilla, Mysterio and Sádico for a year and a half. She made her debut at Arena Libertad which is currently known as Arena 23 de Junio.

She debuted as "Atenea" but months later someone else complained. For this reason she decided to change her name, and she sought for choices. The promoter of Arena Libertad suggested the name of another deity, Reina Kali.

Kali is the Hindu Goddess destroyer of evil and defender of women; is not comsidered neither evil nor good. She destroys evil in order to create a clean state of consciousness. The young wreslter investigated more and more about the Goddess and she like it. Originally the name was going to Diosa Kali but the promoter and her agreed to change it to Reina Kali.
