Notes
Started his career in wrestling during 1970s. He had to retire from wrestling after ten years due to health issues. Trained for four years before becoming a professional wrestler. His debut was in a Battle Royal in a wrestling event in El Cercado, Nuevo Leon. He did not even know which would be his ring name. Then the promoter told him that his name would be Garringo. He did not like that name, but he never change it. He used a mask just one time and he did not like it either, he took it off and never used a mask again.
Rene Guajardo supported him and began to book him. Due to his performance, he was included to compete in the tournament for the new Northern Middleweight Champion. He reached the finals, but he lost against Jungla Negra. Eventually, got into a rivalry with El Signo who was UWA World Welterweight Champion. They disputed the Championship and Garringo defeated El Signo. That victory was very grarifying for Garringo, because El Signo had an undefeated streak. He was champiom until he lost it against Texano.
Was Tag Team partner of El Solitario, El Santo, Blue Demon, Huracán Ramírez, Rayo de Jalisco, Mil Mascaras and Tinieblas. His most memorable matches were when he teamed up with El Solitario, and El Santo; his feud with Rene Guajardo, and Dr. Wagner. He made a trio with Dorrel Dixon & Anibal. His most notable rivals were Rene Guajardo, Ray Mendoza and Los Misioneros de la Muerte.
His last match was on 1982 in Arena Monumental de Monterrey teaming with El Marquez defeating Angel Blanco and Baby Face.
He stated:
"Me retiro contento, porque no me quede con las ganas de nada luche y alterne con los Grandes..." I retired happy, because I had no regrets of anything, I wrestled and alternated with the big ones...
