Dos Leyendas is the annual spring major card for CMLL, usually taking place in March.
CMLL began running named shows to honor founder EMLL founder Salavador Lutteroth in 1996. Starting in 1999, the name officially became Dos Leyendas, also honoring El Santo. After 2006, when El Hijo del Santo and the CMLL promotion split, CMLL switched to honoring a different luchador each year.
Prior to 1996, it was not uncommon for CMLL to have a big March show, but 1996 is the first recognized show in this series.
