His interest for lucha libre began since he was 10 years old. He worked as shoeshine boy and one day he went to the Arena Coliseo and he watched Espanto & Black Shadow against El Santo & Rolando Vera who would become his first maesteo. Since that day he had the illusion to become a luchador.
Began to train in 1970 at the of 15 with Rolando Vera for two years then he continued with Dick Medrano, after him he was trained by Rene Guajardo until his debut on December 25, 1979 at La Monumental de Monterrey with Guajardo's Division del Norte. He went in a tag team match with Lucero Azul against Payutla & As Negro.
