The Northern Light Heavyweight Championship is a regional championship promoted and defended in the Northern states of Mexico. The title is not restricted to any specific wrestling promotion. It's commonly referred to as LLU Light Heavyweight Championship due to it's connection with the promotion Lucha Libre Unida (LLU).

Jessy El Vasco Jr. is the current champion. He defeated Kid Lion on November 1, 2015 in Gimnasio Nuevo Mezquital in San Nicolás, Nuevo León to win the title.
History of Championship
Lucha Libre Unida (LLU) announced through Facebook they agreed to a deal with Luis Reyna in order to promote three championships in hands of Reyna's older brother, and former lucha libre promoter Tony Reyna. These championships were the Northern Light Heavyweight Championship, the Northern Welterweight Championship, the Nuevo Leon Middleweight Championship and the Nuevo Leon Women's Championship.
The first champions recognized under management of the promotion were Furor (Light Heavyweight), Sombra del Ring (Welterweight), and Luis Reyna (Middleweight).
