Profile
Arkangel de la Muerte in 1991 after his mask loss as Mr. Cid he fell in depression and he had a near death accident in which he was in comma for about a week. In that trance he said that he was visited by an Angel who told him to do not give up. Months later, totally recovered he continued his career under a new identity as El Arkangel de la Muerte [2]. He was commonly just called Arkangel; there are plenty of Angel luchadors, but only one Arkangel.
Arkangel was a long time CMLL midcarder. He's held both the CMLL and Mexican National Welterweight Championship, but wasn't strongly pushed when champion. He seemed to be a guy they use to hold matches together, but isn't noteworthy on his own. Arkangel was a member of Pandilla Guerrera. Formed his own group called Rebeldes del Desierto in early 2008. He has wrestled in Japan, Philippines, all over Central America, and Canada.
Besides being a luchador, Arkángel was well known for being a trainer. He trained many luchadors and luchadoras, many of whom have gone on to become stars in Lucha Libre.
