Biography

Was introduced to UWA by Dorado and was given the Fantomas gimmick from a columnist for Ovaciones, which made him an unexpected cover star and got him an instant push... which turned into an instant depush as Ovaciones wanted royalties. Went to Arena Naucalpan where he was given the Fantastik name by Marco Moreno. He became a regular until he was one of many guys who were poached from Naucalpan to CMLL, in revenge for the Morenos/AAA's new relationship. He registered the name Fantastik himself... and so Moreno came up with the gimmick Fantasy, which is the origin of that name.

As an undercarder in CMLL, Fantastik met Tajiri, who recommended him to the Big Japan promotion. BJW's owner Great Kojika contacted the CMLL offices who told him that Fantastik wouldn't be available. Turns out CMLL never told Fantastik that he was being asked about Japan dates. Luckily a couple of years later he met Tajiri once again and got dates with BJW, which ended up killing the BJW/CMLL relationship as CMLL suspected Fantastik had gone behind their backs to get booked (of course he did, because they were blocking him from bookings where he was in demand).

So that began Fantastik's run in Japan, getting a 5-year contract with BJW. He was suddenly lonely when Tajiri started getting US bookings, so BJW loaned him to Michinoku Pro, where there was a lucha libre-inspired style and more Spanish speakers. He became the second Shiryu there. He got certain guys Japan bookings like Lockhart, Steel Warrior II, Neftali, José Luis Feliciano, his then-partner Marcela, and Sable (whom he describes as a terrible wrestler but a good friend).

After 17 years in Japan, he now lives in Neza and makes masks.
