Biography

Juana Barraza was a serial killer in Mexico City. She posed as a social worker to gain entry to homes, choke out the victim with an object, and steal from their homes.

Although Juana Barraza never was a professional wrestler, she was a promoter. She organized events with CMLL and independent wrestlers. Claimed to be in charge of 70 wrestlers as a promotorer. She lied to the wrestlers telling them she was a masked wrestler under the name of “La Dama del Silencio” (The Lady of Silence) as ruda, but had to retire due to injury. The story would have been believable, but she later lied about that she was called for a tour of the United States, where she would have won the "WWF Women's World Championship." To corroborate her story, she managed to get the veteran photojournalist Don Luis Napoles Salas to include her in his section Los Rayos X, in the Súper Luchas Magazine #61 (published May 31, 2004). Nobody would buy the story she was a "WWF" women's champion, then it was changed to "WWA" instead, which was more believable. However, the belt she was wearing was a phony replica of the WCW "big gold" and had Goldberg's name on it.

Barraza's murders had nothing to do with lucha libre and she was never a wrestler, but she's often portrayed as a murdering wrestler.

Barraza was arrested on January 25, 2006 for the murder of Ana María de los Reyes Alfaro, a 89 year old woman, and was subsequently connected to murdering 10 other women. The nickname "La Mataviejitas" (The Old Ladie's Murderer) was how the police referred to Juana Barraza, before they caught her.
