Born in Pachuca, Hidalgo; moved to Mexico City at the age of 15 where he worked as baker. Practiced boxing at amateur level. He was brother of Maciste. Became a professional wrestler rapidly. Debuted on 1939 as a técnico. Admirer of Salvador Flores and Gory Guerrero. Never was a main eventer, but he was an illustrious trainer with a large list of pupils. Some of his most notable trainees were Fantasma de la Quebrada, Scaramouche, La Seductora, Cruz Diablo, Dardo Aguilar, Pequeño Olímpico, Mini Psicosis I, El Molusco, Sexto Sentido, La Gata, Olímpico, and Aníbal.
