Armando Estrada Chávez was born on October 17, 1946 in Toluca, Mexico State, son of Juan Ortega y Carlota Chávez.  He became a lucha libre fanatic and it was his favorite sport.  When he had enough age, he began to train with [[Tigre Hispano]].

Morover in Arena Atlas, Arcángel wrestled with big names in lucha libre; he was tag team partner of  [[Ángel Blanco Jr.]], and they went against [[El Fantasma]] y [[Tinieblas]] starting a feud.  Made campaign with Los Superlibres and there were rumors about going to Pavillón Azteca.
