He shouldn't be confused with Máscara Sagrada, who wrestled as Mágico in late 80s. He also performed as Máscara Sagrada on local events in Monterrey. Octagón also used the ring name Amenaza Elegante before take his current gimmick.

Claimed in a 2000 interview to have defended his mask 73 times and traveled to Japan, the US, Spain, Germany, Greece and Argenita with a trip to Saudi Arabia on the way. Also says he's wrestled in Arena Mexico, Tokyo Dome, and the Astrodome. (These are all suspect facts, as are the list of titles.)
