Long time California based wrestler who sometimes wrestled in Tijuana and in lucha libre events in the United States, in which he was facing with Mexican wrestlers. Steve Pain began to train wrestling at age of 15 in the World Power Wrestling Academy under Lil' Cholo. Soon, Pain made his wrestling debut in 2002 in a WPW event. After sometime, Pain formed an alliance with Infernal as "The Soulless Assassins" and they won the WPW Tag Team Championship. When Steve Pain left WPW, he discovered the Inoki Dojo and began to train under Durango Kid, who help him to domain the Mexican lucha libre style. In 2009, Pain came to train in the Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy under the tutelage of Joey Kaos and Ray Rosas. Next year finally entered in the Knox Pro Wrestling Academy to finish his development under former WWE wrestlers Gangrel and Rikishi.

Steve Pain appeared in the 2008 and 2010 editions of DragonMania held by Ultimo Dragon's promotion Toryumon in the Arena Mexico. In 2011 wrestled in the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutierrez Moreno at a WWA event for the WWA World Welterweight Championship, losing against Hijo de Rey Misterio II. At begins of 2013, Pain wrestled as the masked Black Machine in the FMLL Luchamania Tour in the United States. At middle of that year, Steve Pain began to appear regularly in DTU and AAA events as a rudo luchador. In November 2013, Pain with Juventud Guerrera and Eterno formed the stable La Anarquía‎ in AAA.
