An eight person tournament which took place over three weeks. All matches took place at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. The tournament was seeded by battle royal. Conde Negro, El Cora, Fantasma Negro, and Pancho Ramirez were announced for the tournament and don't appear in the semi-finals, so they were either eliminated in the first round or replaced.
The winner is not obvious from the lineups - no one defends this title before the next title tournament to decide it. Lucha Libre 285 congratulates Rolando Costa for defeating Luis Gonzalez.
