Metro is a popular newspaper in Mexico. The paper decided the best form of advertising would be to pay promoters money in exchange for having wrestlers work under the Metro banner. To make things confusing, two wrestlers assumed the gimmick at the same time:
- Metro (CMLL): Ex-Fabian el Gitano who played the gimmick on all CMLL shows.
- Metro (Guadalajara): Local wrestler from Guadalajara.
