He shouldn't be confused with Máscara Sagrada, who wrestled as Mágico in late 80s. He also performed as Máscara Sagrada on local events in Monterrey. Octagón also used the ring name Amenaza Elegante before take his current gimmick.

A Piedras Negras-born wrestler but raised in Monterrey. He claimed to have traveled to Japan, the US, Spain, Germany, Greece, and Argentina with a trip to Saudi Arabia on the way. Also says he's wrestled in Arena Mexico, Tokyo Dome, and the Astrodome. Claimed to have a match against Andre The Giant in the United States. (These are all suspect facts, as are the list of titles.) As of 2010, he claims to have won 76 masks and 89 hairs on apuesta matches. Also claimed on interviews that he owned the rights of Superzan and being the one who performed in La Mansión de las Siete Momias (1975).

A biologist on his life outside lucha libre, Mágico also served as an actor on low-budget films. He starred on three movies and wrote some unpublished books. He survived the death in 2010 as he received a kidney from a fan. Following this sucess, he became an activist who promoted the organ donation.

Mágico wrestled his last match on May 29, 2016 in the Gimnasio Nuevo Mezquital in San Nicolás, Nuevo León. Mágico, teaming up with El Ninja Jr. and Kid Lion, defeated Kiowa, Mongol Chino, and Titanik on a Lucha Libre Unida (LLU) event. He died on September 2, 2016 in Monterrey due to a kidney failure.
