The first volume of the encyclopedia was released on July 1, 2007. As of 2014, the encyclopedia has 21 volumes. Mexican lucha libre historian Christian Cymet contributed to the creation of the book, showing his mask collection (as of 2007, the collection was estimated to have more than 1,500 masks) from much luchadors.
