He originally planned to debut as el Yaqui he had the permission of the previous Mexicali wrestler to use the name. However, Barick River did not want him to wrestle under the name of Yaqui. Instead, River suggested to choose a pirate name. His professional wrestling debut was on April 12, 1994 in a singles match against Tirano in the now disappeared Arena Huracan Ramirez Mexicali.
He is recognized for his strong wrestling style in his early singles and Tag Team matches. Regarded as a strong rudo hated by the crowds. He had long time feuds with El Puma del Ring (later on known as Super Sol) and El Musical. One of his most important victories in his wrestling career was the mask of El Puma del Ring at Arena Independencia. It was a dificult match, besides of his rival he had the crowd against him supporting their idol. Another important victory in apuestas was the mask of Alas de Oro (Humilde's brother) at Arena Coliseo Mexicali.
