ELLMEX Championship

The ELLMEX Championship is a Chicago-based professional wrestling championship owned by Empresa de Lucha Libre Mexicana (ELLMEX). It was introduced in 2014.

Current Champion

Skayde Jr. is the current champion. He won the title over former champion Halcón Oriental, and other eight wrestlers on January 27, 2017 in Arena GALLI, Villa Park, Illinois.

History of Championship

The Empresa de Lucha Libre Mexicana (ELLMEX) began a tournament at finals 2013 in order to crown the inaugural champion for the promotion. Imagen Nocturna qualified for the finals by winning an eliminatory in Los Angeles, California, while Príncipe Águila, and Príncipe Franky qualified by winning the one in Dallas, Texas. The final participant who qualified was the local Imperio Azteca by winning the eliminatory held in Chicago, Illinois. The tournament final took place on January 19, 2014 at The Olympic Theater in Cicero. Imperio Azteca became the first champion by defeating Imagen Nocturna, Príncipe Águila, and Príncipe Franky.
