Mexican National Lightweight Tournament, 2008

With no advance notice, the Mexican National Lightweight championship was brought out of mothballs, classified as a mini eligible championship, and decided by a three week tournament. CMLL held two ciberneticos to determine the finalists and then a singles match on September 23rd to decide a new champion.

Unusual things that were never explained about the tournament

• why the two ciberneticos were of unequal sizes.
• why Tzuki was announced for the Block A, but was replaced by Ultimo Dragoncito (which may be related to the first issue)
• why Cosmico worked Block A as a rudo (unequal sizes?)
• why Cosmico worked the second block as Celestial when it's been established they're the same person
