After EMLL left the NWA and became CMLL in 1991, they created promotion based championships for many weight divisions and teams sizes. The tournament lasted from September 15 to September 26 in Mexico City. [[Pierroth]] was given a bye to the finals for unknown reasons.
The tournament included 16 wrestlers and took place in two different buildings. One group of eight wrestlers met in elimination matches on 09/15 in Arena Coliseo, and 09/19 in Arena Isabel de Cuernavaca. Individual match results for that show are unknown. The final took place on September 26 in Arena Isabel De Cuernavaca

The tournament included 16 wrestlers and took place in two different buildings. One group of eight wrestlers met in elimination matches on 09/15 in Arena Coliseo, and 09/19 in Arena Isabel de Cuernavaca. Individual match results for that show are unknown. The final took place on September 26 in Arena Isabel De Cuernavaca
