The first Tigre de Bengala debuted under the name of Bengala III, as the partner of Bengala I. Some fans confused him with Bengala II (Gaston del Valle), who had passed away on the September 19, 1985 due to the great earthquake. Tigre de Bengala I lost the title AWWA Middle Title in Juarez with Ari Romero, so he clearly was not the one who passed away. Tigre de Bengala I later retired suddenly due to personal issues and is believed to have moved to Juarez.

In local arenas, Tigre de Bengala formed part of a trio with Fray Tormenta and Aguila del America. His parnter Tigre de Bengala III would late become Super Pinocho.
