Moonsault.jpg

A moonsault bodyblock is a back flip which connects with a standing opponent. Most Asai Moonsaults are bodyblocks.

A moonsault press is a back flip which connects with a grounded opponent.

Moonsaults are most commonly done from the top rope, but can be done from standing on the mat, standing on the ropes (Asai Moonsault/quebrada), from the apron, from the ring post, and any other surface. Moonsaults are common moves in lucha libre, sometimes even more common as a dive than in the ring.
