The Torneo Antonio Pena is an annual AAA tournament. It's held at the annual Antonio Pena Memorial show, in late October. The first tournament was held in 2007, a year after Pena passed away. The winner of Torneo Antonio Pena received a medal. The torneo itself allows AAA to include more wrestlers on the card, and features unique singles matches not typically seen in the tag-focused promotion. The individual matches are short, but the full torneo is held as one continuous battle, one of the longest of AAA's year.

Torneo Antonio Pena is a king of the mountain type match. Two wrestlers are randomly drawn to start the match. Wrestlers are eliminated in normal fashion, and the loser is replaced by the next random participant. The first tournament featured surprise/unannounced entrants, and it's believed this will be a continuing trait of the tournament.
