In the final, [[Último Guerrero]] beat [[Atlantis]] and became the first ever Azteca Champion.

Completed the time stipulated to the match, no one was victorious, so promoter Rodolfo Flores went to the ring with [[Chucho Villa]], the representant of Comision de Box y Lucha Monterrey and after some things said to public, Villa decided to vacate the title and strip [[Místico II]] from this. Flores and Villa non announced how and when will be crown a new champion.

The Azteca Championship is a professional wrestling singles championship promoted by Lucha Libre Azteca.

Current Champion

The title is currently vacated, after a draw between former champion Místico II, La Sombra and Volador Jr. in a 30-Minute Match on May 12, 2013.

History of Championship

In the winter of 2009, the promotion Lucha Libre Azteca announced that TV Azteca created a new championship to the wrestlers from CMLL, but this title would defended in Monterrey. In December 19, 2010, in Arena Monterrey, 12 wrestlers of CMLL participating in a 1 night tournament to crown the first champion. In the final, Último Guerrero beat Atlantis and became the first ever Azteca Champion.

On May 12, 2013, Lucha Libre Azteca's promoter Rodolfo Flores announced that the match in wich Místico II should defend the title against La Sombra and Volador Jr. would a 30-Minute Match as time limit. Completed the time stipulated to the match, no one was victorious, so promoter Rodolfo Flores went to the ring with Chucho Villa, the representant of Comision de Box y Lucha Monterrey and after some things said to public, Villa decided to vacate the title and strip Místico II from this. Flores and Villa non announced how and when will be crown a new champion.
