Biography

Real name Pedro Bolaños, he wrestled under that name in the mid-60's as a tecnico. After wrestling in Central and South America he returned to Mexico and decided to begin a new career for himself at the age of 39 by putting on a mask.

His mask was historic due to the fact it was the first time anyone had worn a mask with an opening for their mouth. El Solitario eventually copied this design for his own legendary mask.

Formed famous teams with Carta Brava, El Condor & El Lince (who died tragically in a car accident at a young age). Also teamed with his son El Caballero Tigre II who would eventually go on to acheive fame under the name Gallo Tapado.

He had many rivals throughout his career but the most memorable was with Dr. Karonte. They never made it to a mask match and both retired with their respective masks. Some of his other rivals included Canaima, Espectro I, Hermano Muerte I (who eventually became Sangre Fria), Hermano Muerte II, Chanoc, El Duque, Professor Satan & Tom Mix.

Although he never made it to Arena Mexico, he was well known in the smaller arenas throughout the Distrito Federal area. Some of those arenas included Arena Xochilmilco, Arena Naucalpan & Arena Monumental.

He retired in 1986, never losing the mask and left the Caballero Tigre gimmick to his son Caballero Tigre II (Gallo Tapado).

After his retirement he became a director on the Association for Retired Luchadores, a position which he held until his death in 1999.
