Metro is a popular newspaper in Mexico. The paper decided the best form of advertising would be to pay promoters money in exchange for having wrestlers work under the Metro banner. To make things confusing, two wrestlers assumed the gimmick at the same time, and (at least) one has been replaced:
- Metro (Guadalajara): Arena Coliseo Guadalajara regular
- The first Mexico City Metro was Fabian el Gitano, playing the gimmick on all CMLL DF shows. As of June 25, 2006, he's returned to the Fabian gimmick
- A new Metro took over for Fabian. It didn't take long to realize Neutron had taken over the identity. Neutron returned to his usual character in February of 2007.
- A new Metro started using the gimmick in January of 2009, and eventually became Diamante Azul
- A Juarez wrestler has used Metro for a number of years.
