Profile
NJPW young lion who came to Mexico with Gran Hamada in mid-1975 as Hashi Masataka, working for what would eventually become LLI. Hamada was an instant sensation, Masataka less so.
Masataka was billed as the (Japanese) World Lightweight champion. It's unclear if he actually held such a belt or if it was just invented as part of the proto-LLI claiming their own world championships. Masataka eventually lost in the final of the tournament to decide the UWA World Lightweight Championship.
