Also, the second button from the right on the toolbar ([http://www.luchawiki.com/skins/common/images/button_sig.png]) is the signature button - it puts the name/time/date thing I keep posting. It took Robert months to figure that out, so I thought I'd help everyone be ahead of the curve. --[[User:Nkhan|thecubsfan]] 15:12, 15 August 2006 (CDT) | Also, the second button from the right on the toolbar ([http://www.luchawiki.com/skins/common/images/button_sig.png]) is the signature button - it puts the name/time/date thing I keep posting. HEY! I... DAMNIT! Fine. Cubs is right though, the idea of the moves page was to use pictures of moves from Mexico. One day someone(sorry, I forget who it was... :/) uploaded a bunch of non-Lucha moves and instead of deleting them all we just left them there with the idea of replacing them when Lucha-influenced photos came along. Maybe that's what brought on some of the confusion.--[[User:Robert|Robert]] 15:29, 15 August 2006 (CDT)
I guess it isnt really relevant since it has been deleted now, but...
A LARIAT is done with the left arm. A Lariat is a type of clothesline. You can do a clothesline witrh either arm, but only the left can do a lariat. Why?
When a wrestler is training, they are taught to do strikes with the right hand, because most people are right handed, and thus the punches, etc are more accurate. On occasion, a lefty will throw a left handed punch or clothesline, and it is often a big deal (especially in Japan). People not knowing the difference (wrestlers, commentators, and fans alike) regularly use the terms Lariat and clothesline interchangably, but it is still wrong.
As far as Hansen goes (the most famous "Lariat" user), he ofthen clotheslines with his right, but when he pulls up the pad and signals the finish, he throws it with the left arm. In fact, he usualy only wears the pad on his left arm for this reason - to signal the lariat. |

This is a very good picture of Kenta Kobashi executing a clothesline, not a Lariat. The difference between a clothesline and a lariat: lariat = left arm, clothesline = right. I move that this pic be moved to a page for clothesline.
I disagree. Stan Hansen, the man most famous for his lariat, has used both arms to do the lariat. A clothesline is just the non-cowboy name for the lariat. - Crimson G
You know, I moved this around, and now it occurs to me I shouldn't have bothered - we want pictures of people doing moves in lucha libre, and this is not that. When someone finds a lucha lariat/clothesline, feel free to name it whatever. --thecubsfan 15:09, 15 August 2006 (CDT)
