Worked as police officer before becoming a luchador. A biography in Lucha Libre 30 claims Daniel Aldana was not the original choice to be The Grey Shadow, but that heavyweight (name unrevealed) did not show up and Aldana was put under the mask. Said to have toured Alabama, Louisana and Oklahoma while champion in 1954, including winning an eight man tournament to face (fellow police officer) junior heavyweight champion Leroy McGuirk. McGuirk retained the titles in straight falls over ninety minutes. Suffered foot fractures after a battle royal where Indio Gallcia fell out of the ring on top of him and was out of the ring after a year. Not coincidentally, Aldana was part of the group who formed the original Union Nacional de Luchadores.
