Current Champion
Mascarita Sagrada 2000 is the current champion. Sagrada won the championship on November 5, 2004 in Veracruz while a member of AAA. In fall of 2007, Sagrada jumped to CMLL while still champion. He's now wrestling as Mascarita Dorada, and this championship has not made an official appearance yet. Sagrada/Dorada clearly still has possession of the belt - one of the key reasons for his promotion switch was AAA booking a match where he'd lose it to Mini Histeria - but it's not clear if CMLL will want to use the belt or if it'll just end up in a closet.
History of Championship
This title was created specifically for AAA. Espectrito I and Mascarita Sagrada (Original) had been feuding in CMLL over the CMLL World Mini Estrella Championship while in that promotion. Sagrada vacated that title as part of the massive jump to AAA, but the feud resumed with the new belt.
