TARTU EL BRUJO, UN LUCHADOR EXTRAÑO QUE SE RETIRO EN SILENCIO
En Guatemala hace muchos años existió un brujo de una tribu llamado Tartu, que vivía dormido durante el día en una cueva. Cuando llegaron los hombres blancos mataron a su pueblo y el juró vengarse de los invasores. Cada noche se convertía en un animal diferente e iba matando a los blancos. Sin embargo uno de los invasores pudo descubrir la cueva donde dormía y le prendió fuego, matándolo, naciendo así la leyenda.
“Tomé el nombre de este personaje que me impresionó cuando era joven y que me sirvió para identificarme dentro de mi carrera luchistica que nació en la Arena La Loma de la ciudad de Puebla un 12 de enero de 1975 y que finalizó en julio de 1993, luego de que un riñón me dejó de funcionar y posterior a una lesión de columna vertebral de la cual me recuperé para ingresar a la Triple A”, dijo el luchador nacido en Cuernavaca, Morelos un 12 de abril de 1954.
Tartú el Brujo tuvo un acercamiento con la lucha libre a la edad de 8 años, pero nunca había pensado en ser luchador hasta que la Araña de Morelos, con quien tenía gran amistad lo invitó a entrenar. Empezó a practicar la lucha libre en el Centro Comercial con gente como Garambullo, Pequeño Volta, el Amateco y el Jíbaro entre otros y fue Gustavín, un joven que confeccionaba máscaras, quien le consiguió debutar e iniciar una trayectoria nunca soñada.
“Entré más que nada por sentir lo que era ser luchador, pero mi poco peso no me hacía aspirar a más; pero las puertas se me fueron abriendo y empecé a escalar sitios que nunca había imaginado y estar en carteles con luchadores a los que admiraba cuando era aficionado. Esto me motivó para dedicarme más a entrenar y superarme. Ingresé a las filas de los Independientes, luchando en Cuautitlán, San Juan Pantitlán, Acapulco y Puebla”.
En 1979, don Ramón Cué, promotor de la Arena Isabel de Cuernavaca mandó llamar a Tartú el Brujo para luchar en su arena, debido a que la Comisión de Box y Lucha ordenó que Glamoroso Froylán tuviera que defender el título ligero del estado ante el primer clasificado y ese era el rudo de los independientes que se presentó para quedarse definitivamente en las filas isabelinas donde llegó consolidarse como una figura, ganando las máscaras de Ultrarrojo, la del Héroe, la del Imperial y la ultima la de Alto Voltaje. Antes como elemento libre había conquistado 10 más, entre ellas la del Dragón Morelense, El Egipcio, el Aguila Venezolana, la del Tercer Hombre, la del Ratón y la del Medico Vengador, así como las cabelleras de Leo II, Vic Tellez y la de Freddy Ramírez en dos ocasiones.
Luego de varios intentos de coronarse, ante Glamoroso Froylán en su debut en la Isabel, ante Ray López, Aguila Venezolana y Luthor, pudo por fin coronarse al derrotar en la final de una eliminatoria a Glamoroso Froylán, en octubre de 1987; solamente defendió una ocasión el título welter de Morelos ante el Africano Júnior, al tener que retirarse por tener tres discos cervicales desviados. También disputó el campeonato ligero de Guerrero contra Hipocampo y estuvo en una eliminatoria nacional de peso ligero celebrada en la arena Revolución, siendo eliminado por Climax, que era el ídolo de esa arena de la capital del país.
Después de dos años y medio, regresó a los cuadriláteros, fue en una función que la Triple A realizó en Cuernavaca, le tocó de compañeros, Karis La Momia y el Espectro Júnior, saliendo hacia el centro del encordado en ataúdes lo que causó un gran asombro entre los aficionados, sus rivales fueron Solar, Halcón y Falcón.
Seis meses duró su regreso, ya que una problema renal que lo tuvo al borde del quirófano lo alejó y ahora pocas ocasiones se le puede ver en las arenas, se retiró sin hacer ruido, perdiéndose un luchador que estuvo considerado como un buen prospecto a nivel nacional.
Su atuendo era muy singular y con capas muy elegantes, la máscara tenía una peluca, pero se diferenciaba de otras, porque se amarraba por delante, incluso “Candadito” un reportero de una revista especializada le hizo una caricatura, señalando que era de las caretas más originales de la lucha libre mexicana.
Tiene muchas anécdotas interesantes de su paso por la lucha libre y grandes recuerdos de las giras realizadas y su presencia en arenas de casi toda la república mexicana. Su estilo rudo provocó que fuera agredido por los aficionados en varias ocasiones, pero también en su paso por el bando técnico le trajo muchas satisfacciones, sobre todo cuando formó el trío de Los Poderes junto con Ray López y Aguila Venezolana que dejó luego su lugar a Starbick y que dejaron profunda huella en esta la ciudad de la Eterna Primavera.
Sus ídolos fueron el Doctor Wagner padre y Anibal, y entre sus rivales estuvieron Blue Demon, Tinieblas, Tawa Vera, los Robinson, el Buitre, los Tarascos, Babe Richard, Chamaco Valaguez, Zaratustra, León Chino, Divino Roy, Kirilenko, Aristóteles, Rokambole, los Bengala, los Enfermeros, Black Terry, los Brazos de Oro y Plata, Príncipe Odín, el Comanche, Misterio Blanco, el Patriarca, Danny Boy, Barón Chumedo, y Electrón, entre muchos más.

TARTU THE WIZARD, A STRANGE LUCHADOR WHO RETIREMENT IN SILENCE
In Guatemala many years ago a wizard of the Tartu tribe lived slept during the day in a cave. When the white men arrived, they killed his people and he swore to take revenge himself of the invaders. Every night transformed into a different animal and killed the invaders. Nevertheless, one of the invaders could discover the cave where he slept and it set fire to it, killing him, making a new legend.
"I took the name from this personage whom impressed me when I was young and that served me to identify within lucha libre. Began my career in the city of Puebla on January 12, 1975 and retired on July, 1993 after that a kidney did not let me work and later an spine injury which I recovered to enter to the Triple A", said the luchador born in Cuernavaca, Morelos on April 12, 1954.
Tartú the Wizard had an approach with the lucha libre at the age of 8, but never thought about being luchador until, La Araña de Morelos who had a great friendship invited him to train. He began to practicing lucha libre in a Commercial Center with people like Garambullo, Pequeño Volta, the Amateco and the Poor farmer among others. Gustavín, a young mask maker, that were able to him to make debut and to initiate a career never dreamed.
"I entered more than nothing to feel what was to be luchador, but my light weight did not make me aspire to more; but the doors were always opening to me and I began to scale sites that never had imagined and to be in posters with luchadores to whom it admired when he was fan. This motivated to dedicate to me to train and surpass me more. I entered to the rows of the Independent ones, wrestling in Cuautitlán, San Juan Pantitlán, Acapulco and Puebla ".
In 1979, Don Ramon Cué, promoter of the Arena Santa Isabel in Cuernavaca booked Tartú the Wizard to wrestle in his Arena, because the Commission of Box and Lucha ordered that Glamoroso Froylán had to defend the lightweight title against the the first contender and that was the robust one of independent that appeared definitively to remain in the rows isabelinas where it arrived to consolidate like a figure, winning the masks of Ultra-red, the one of the Hero, the one of the Imperial one and it completes the one of High Voltage.
