We should probably start forcing mandatory sources when people make changes to dates and title reigns. I changed this because 2/16/95 didn't exist as an AAA taping with a title match and it turns out whoever changed it was thinking 2/16/94 which was when Psicosis beat Santo for the *WWA Welterweight Title*. So the title was wrong AND the year was wrong.--Robert 23:26, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
The source of the title change in February 1995 instead of May 1995 was none other than thecubsfan.com itself: http://www.thecubsfan.com/cmll/events/199502aaa.php
AAA TV (MON) 02/06 Reynosa - 1) Psicosis I b El Hijo Del Santo [MEX WELTER]
I only mistyped "02/16" instead of "02/06". And Rizardo Ruiz lost the title at this show:
Carnaval de Campeones (1965-01-13) - La Arena México @ México, Distrito Federal (Mexiko): 1. Johnny Ceballos beat Ángel López, 2. Acapulco Welterweight Title Match: El Capitán beat Abundio Radilla, 3. Acapulco Middleweight Title Match: Rafael Salamanca beat Braulio Mendoza, 4. Mexican National Lightweight Title Match: Rodolfo Ruíz beat Chanoc (c), 5. Mexican National Women's Title Match: Isabel Romero (c) beat Irma González, 6. Mexican National Welterweight Title Match: Huracán Ramírez beat Rizardo Ruíz (c), 7. Mexican National Light Heavyweight Title Match: Raúl Reyes beat Ray Mendoza (c)
So the only fault in my last two changes was that 1 instead of a 0. --Ringo 17:08, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Cubs got that result (Santo/Psicosis) from my results file and just entered it into the wrong year by accident. So that confusion is cleared up. It was 2/16/94 in Reynosa.--Robert 22:43, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry! --thecubsfan 03:10, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
By the way @ thecubsfan: there seems to be another mistake at the event archive on 2/16/94: AAA TV (WED) 02/16 Mexico City is the same show as AAA TV (FRI) 02/17 Mexico City one year later. February 1995 should be correct. --Ringo 23:28, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
How could Ciclón Ramírez win the vacant championship on 1989-05-21 when it wasn't vacated until 1990-01-12? Other sources say that Azteca won the NWA World Middleweight Championship already on 1989-04-28 instead of January 1990, but that would mean the Luchawiki Champions listing of the Middleweight title isn't correct. --Ringo 15:30, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I actually have the title history magazine I used for this handy. This is what they write, word for word
So, the dates on both pages look off. I'll make the changes. --thecubsfan 05:17, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Test.
Kung Fu/Fishman title switch
This is likely a note to myself (and I hope I'll make it to some 1977/1978 sources at some point to resolve this)
We've got 1977.09.25 listed as Kung Fu beating Fishman. The title change had been listed as 09.26, I found a Guadalajara poster with a title match on 09.25, seemed like it was just off a day.
Since then, two title Fishman defenses (1977.12.09 vs Ultraman at Arena Mexico & 1978.04.02 vs Kung Fu at Pista) have turned up, so 1977.09.25 is probably wrong. Kung Fu is definitely champ by 1978.04.30, he's defending the title in Monterrey. That points to 04.02 as the title change. I'm not changing it now only because I want to see if I can find a report before confirming that date rather than guessing wrong again. But the 09.25 date is surely not correct.

Blue Demon 1953 reign
One was listed, but a newspaper recap of the match is clear it was the World Welterweight title that changed hands instead.
I suspect the 1953 defense is also a World title defense and that Santo gave up this title sometime after winning the World title in 1952, but the date eludes me so far. --thecubsfan (talk) 10:58, 21 January 2021 (PST)
